First and foremost...if you haven't done so already go visit Steve in a Speedo's Blog and not only be entertained by his blister pictures and hilarious posts, enter to win a free pair of shoes from onlineshoes.com. And since 110 other people have already entered at least once to win I find no shame in putting this up on my blog to get myself a third entry!! :) Mommy needs a new pair of shoes Steve...I'll send you my blister pictures from this weekend if it'll get me a fourth entry!!
This weekend was Eagleman 70.3 up in Cambridge, MD after a fairly rough start to my trip...read that flat tire and torrential downpour in the minute I left the car with all the windows down to grab something from the house (can we say wet butt for the ride up?!) I was excited to find out one of our friends, Big Cris, won the Blazeman award...what an honor for a very deserving guy...congrats!! I have to say that this race was well organized, fun, the town so supportive (because let's face it, having a half IM wind through your town for hours upon hours is just not convenient) and the volunteers were spectacular...not once did I hit an aid station that was devoid of all the goodies...water, gatorade, bananas, gels and ice galore! The race started with really overcast skies...but some where near the end of my bike adventure the sun came out full force making for a hot run...and while the results look as if I decided to totally skip T1 and the bike portion, I can reassure you I definitely did them...just apparently missed the mat or my chip was being finicky. I had hoped for a little faster run, but I'll take the whole race...the half IM distance is still kind of a mystery to me even after a few, so needless to say, there will be more in my future, although maybe not until 2012 when I graduate from graduate school...right now looks like my temporary retirement will start in August! Look out IM New Zealand 2013 though!! :) I didn't get too many pics this weekend so hopefully the race photographers will have caught some of my better moments...and hopefully not me battling the gel at mile 8!! Have a great week everyone!

Congrats! It's always good to have a well supported race, and it's good to hear that it well up there outside of the flat.
glad you did well...avalon is going to stink cause i haven't trained enough..oh well. at least it was a flat car tire not a flat bike tire and thank goodness for a dad who believed girls should use tools too : )
